Homemade Citron Jam: The Best Way to Use Seasonal Citron

Lately, I’m all about jams, and since the citron is in season, I decided to turn it into a homemade citron jam, simple and natural. The result is an intense, fragrant, and slightly bitter jam, perfect for those who love bold and authentic flavors. Ingredients

  • 1 citron (Approximately 28 oz)
  • 1 2/3 cups water
  • 2 cups sugar

  • Thoroughly wash the citron, then cut it into pieces and remove all the seeds. Finely chop the citron and transfer it to a pot.

  • Add a glass of water and bring to the heat. In another small pot, put water and sugar and cook for a few minutes to obtain a light syrup.

  • When the water from the citron has partially evaporated, add the syrup and continue cooking on low heat for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

  • Once the desired thickness is reached, immediately pour the hot jam into sterilized jars, seal tightly, and turn them upside down to create a vacuum.
