Homemade Mici
A kind of sausages strictly cooked on the grill. The mici must remain soft and juicy inside and should be served with mustard. They are traditional Romanian but now known also in Italy and beyond, I’ll just tell you that my husband loves them and always asks me to prepare them. You can find them ready for cooking in supermarkets, but I like to make them from scratch so I know exactly what’s inside 😁 and it’s also very simple!

- 1.76 lbs mutton (Lamb pulp)
- lemon juice
- spices (Paprika, pepper, garlic, etc)
- Half tablespoon baking soda
- Half tablespoon salt
- 2 cups vegetable broth
Steps
The preparation of homemade mici is simple, watch the video HERE.
First, we mince the meat and mix it. We add the minced garlic, baking soda, salt,
We add lemon juice and seasonings to taste. We add the broth and mix all the ingredients well. Cover with cling film and refrigerate until the next day. The next day, we form the mici by taking a little mixture and molding it with slightly wet hands to obtain a sausage (watch video).
We place them on a tray with parchment paper, leaving some space between them. We cook them on the grill for a few minutes, or we can freeze them and cook them as needed!
Enjoy your meal!
