Phyllo Pastry Dessert with Apples and Walnuts
A divine dessert that my mother always made for me when I was little! A dessert made by alternating layers of phyllo pastry and apples enriched with chopped walnuts, a real delight! You won’t believe it, but it’s also vegan, made without eggs, butter, or milk!

Ingredients for the Phyllo Pastry Dessert with Apples and Walnuts:
- 1 package phyllo pastry (About 14 oz)
- 2.2 lbs apples
- ground cinnamon
- 3/4 cup sugar
- vegetable oil
- walnuts (Chopped)
Steps
The preparation of the Phyllo Pastry Dessert with Apples and Walnuts is very simple, watch the video HERE.
First, we take care of the apples, we wash, peel, and grate them. We put them in a pan, add the sugar.
Add the cinnamon and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Turn off the heat and let cool. In a baking dish with parchment paper, place about 1/3 of the phyllo pastry.
Add some oil and brush the entire surface. Place half of the cooled apples and sprinkle. Add some chopped walnuts.
Place another layer of phyllo pastry (2/3). Brush with oil then place the remaining apples and sprinkle well.
Add more walnuts and cover with the remaining phyllo pastry. Brush with oil and add some brown sugar on top.
Cut into squares of the desired size and bake at 356°F for about 30 minutes.
