Ingredients

  • 2 rolls puff pastry
  • 7 oz burrata
  • 1 oz pecorino
  • 3.5 oz smoked salmon

Steps

The preparation of the Savory Puff Pastry Tree with Salmon and Burrata – Quick Christmas Appetizer is very simple, watch the video HERE.

  • Unroll the first roll of puff pastry on your work surface. Spread the slightly shredded burrata over the pastry. Sprinkle with a little grated pecorino. Add the slices of smoked salmon evenly.

  • Cover with the second roll of pastry, pressing the edges well. With a knife, cut out the shape of a Christmas tree, removing the excess pastry. Cut strips along the two sides of the tree.

  • Twist each strip on itself to create the effect of intertwined branches. Brush the surface with some milk. Add seeds (sesame, poppy) and spices to taste. Bake at 350°F for 20–25 minutes until the tree is golden and puffed.

  • Enjoy your meal!

Storage:

The puff pastry tree with salmon and burrata can be kept for 1 day in the refrigerator, well covered with plastic wrap or placed in an airtight container.

To enjoy it at its best, reheat it for a few minutes in the oven at 320°F, so it becomes crispy again without drying out.

Freezing is not recommended as burrata and salmon would lose texture and flavor after thawing.
