Savory Salmon Swirl

A savory pie shaped like a swirl with salmon cream inside and then filled with stracchino cheese and pieces of smoked salmon. I think it’s a dish you absolutely must bring to the table for the Christmas holidays or the New Year’s Eve dinner! A spectacular recipe, very tasty, and one we can serve as an appetizer in our Christmas menus and beyond! In short, if you need a simple yet impressive appetizer, try this swirl!

Ingredients for the Savory Salmon Swirl:

  • 4 eggs
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup Salmon cream
  • salt
  • hazelnut crumbs
  • 4 tablespoons water (Hot)
  • 1 1/3 cups stracchino cheese
  • 2 oz smoked salmon

  • Base preparation:

    Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Whip the egg whites. Add hot water to the yolks and a pinch of salt, then whip.

  • Add the oil, salmon cream, flour, and mix well. Gently fold in the whipped egg whites.

  • Place parchment paper in the pan (14×14 in) Spread and level the mixture. Bake at 350°F for about 20 min.

  • Once ready, cover it with a sheet of parchment paper and flip it over, then remove the attached parchment paper. Trim the edges, then cut into 6 strips of the same size.

  • Spread stracchino cheese on top and add smoked salmon. Roll the first strip onto itself and place it in the center of the plate.

  • Place the other strips around to form the swirl. Decorate as desired.

  • Enjoy your meal!
