Spaghetti with Asparagus in Tomato Sauce

Usually, pasta with asparagus is prepared without tomato, but since I was craving both sauce and asparagus, I made this pasta. It turned out delightful, and from now on, I’ll always make it this way 😁 A very simple recipe to prepare, which I made with wild asparagus. If you’re not as lucky as I am to have them, you can use store-bought ones and follow the same process!

Ingredients for Pasta with Asparagus in Tomato Sauce:

  • extra virgin olive oil
  • garlic
  • Half onion
  • 1 1/4 cups tomato sauce
  • 3 1/2 oz asparagus
  • 1 bouillon cube
  • 7 oz spaghetti
  • basil

Steps

The preparation of pasta with asparagus in tomato sauce is very simple and quick, watch the video HERE.

  • In a saucepan, put some oil, garlic, and the chopped onion, then sautĂ©. Meanwhile, clean and parboil the asparagus for a few minutes to remove all impurities. Then drain them and add them to the sautĂ©, cooking for a few more minutes.

  • Add the tomato sauce, a bit of water, the bouillon cube, and some fresh basil, and cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Finally, add the spaghetti cooked al dente.

  • Mix together
