Strawberry and Cream Roll

By now you know how much I love rolls but I also love strawberries 😁 so I combined my two loves in a delicious recipe ☺️ a maxi roll with cream and strawberries! A soft cake perfect for any occasion from dessert to snack or as a gift for friends and family! A simple recipe to prepare and very scenic besides being DELICIOUS!!!

Ingredients for the Strawberry and Cream Roll:

  • 4 eggs
  • 2.8 oz sugar
  • 0.5 cup flour
  • 5 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 4 tbsp water (Hot)
  • lemon zest
  • vanilla
  • as needed strawberries
  • 10.5 oz Chantilly cream
  • 7 oz strawberries
  • Half lemon
  • 2.5 oz sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 cup milk
  • 0.9 oz cornstarch
  • 4.2 oz sugar
  • 9 oz whipping cream
  • lemon zest

  • Base preparation:

    First, separate the egg yolks from the whites. Add sugar in equal parts. Start whipping the egg whites using an electric mixer. Add hot water over the yolks and begin to mix.

  • Add the oil, grated lemon zest, vanilla flavor, and flour little by little. Mix then incorporate the egg whites.

  • Place the mixture in a 14×14 inches pan lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle and level it. Cut the strawberries into thin slices and place them on top.

  • Bake at 356°F for about 20 min.

    Cream preparation:

    Add the yolks, sugar, cornstarch, and milk little by little while stirring. Add the lemon peel.

  • Bring it to the heat to thicken. Stir continuously. Once thickened, transfer it to a container.

  • Cover it and let it cool. Combine the whipped cream with the cold custard.

    Clean the strawberries, add the sugar and lemon juice.

  • Cook for about 10 min. Stir occasionally and let it cool. Once the base is cooked, flip it.

  • Remove the attached parchment paper. Cut the edges then cut into 5/6 equal parts. Spread the cream on top.

  • Spread and level it. Add the strawberry mixture over the entire surface. Roll the first strip on itself.

  • Place it in the center of the plate. Place the other strips around to form the roll. Refrigerate for a few hours.

  • Enjoy your meal!
