stuffed mucenici with walnuts (Romanian recipe)

stuffed mucenici with walnuts (Romanian recipe)

A typical Romanian recipe prepared on March 8th, and in some regions, the name changes, much like what happens here ☺️ A dough very similar to brioche that is filled with a mix of walnuts, milk, and sugar, and once baked, they are brushed with honey and topped with more chopped walnuts, a real delicacy! If you haven’t tried them yet, I recommend you do because they’re definitely worth it!!! The mucenici in Romania are a bit like the mimosa in Italy. In the past, I’ve already shared some other versions of these sweets, like the Mucenici (Romanian traditional sweets) which in this version are not filled, let’s say it’s the classic version!
