Ingredients for the Upside-Down Cocoa and Apple Cake:

  • 1 oz vegetable margarine
  • 3 apples
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2.5 cups flour
  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1.2 cups water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 5.3 oz apple compote

  • Apple preparation:

    Add the margarine, sliced apples, sugar and let them caramelize. Once ready, place them at the bottom of the mold.

  • Batter preparation:

    In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, sugar, and cocoa. Add the apple compote,

  • Add the oil, water and mix well. Pour the obtained mixture over the caramelized apples in the mold. Bake at 350°F for about 40 minutes.
