Crispy breaded tofu is one of those recipes that shows how this ingredient, often considered “flavorless,” can be transformed into a surprisingly tasty dish. Tofu, naturally rich in plant-based protein, low in fat and completely free of cholesterol, is a valuable ally for those following a balanced diet. This preparation is vegan and vegetarian, so perfect for those who want to reduce animal products without giving up the pleasure of a flavorful dish. The breading (gluten-free), seasoned and the crispy cooking highlight the tofu at its best, especially when served with a sauce that enhances its flavor. I have often seen it served with a bright red sauce — it can be a spiced tomato sauce, a hot sauce like harissa, or a roasted pepper cream — all great to add character and color to the plate.
