- 2 cups cups dry lentils
- 2 tbsps tbsps butter
- 1.75 oz oz pork bacon
- 1/2 onion
- 1 carrot (medium)
- 1 leaf bay leaf
- 1.25 cups cups tomato puree
- 3.5 cups cups vegetable broth

Preparation
First, you need to soak the lentils in cold water for 12 hours and then drain them;
Melt the butter in the pot and add celery, carrot, onion, then the bacon. Stir;
Add the lentils, stir and let them absorb the flavors;
Add the bay leaf, tomato puree, and broth. Salt and pepper to taste;
Stir and close the lid tightly;
Increase the heat;
When the pot whistles, lower the heat and cook for 20 minutes;
The lentils are ready.
Leftover lentils can be stored in the fridge for 3 days.
