It is advisable to prepare the base the day before to fill it the next day, at least a couple of hours before serving.
You can store the already stuffed gastronomic colomba in the fridge, wrapped in a damp cloth for up to 2 days.

The surface of the gastronomic colomba can also be brushed with an egg yolk to make it shiny.
Instead of sesame seeds, you can also use other types of seeds such as: poppy, sunflower, mixed seeds etc.
The amount of yeast can be increased or decreased depending on the time you have available.
You can use only one type of flour but it must have at least 12 g of protein.
