Air Fryer Roasted Peppers are a healthy, tasty, and light side dish. Versatile for countless occasions!
Air fryer roasted peppers are very easy to prepare and will be the base for many dishes. Let’s find out how to prepare them together.
An easy and quick recipe to cook peppers in an air fryer in an alternative way but with a result identical to classic roasted peppers in the oven or on the grill.
To make them, just wash them well, dry them and put them whole in the air fryer basket, and in a few minutes of cooking, they are ready!
Without releasing odors, without oil or fats, uniform cooking, soft but not mushy, and thanks to the air fryer’s ventilated function, the skin will peel off easily. I love this cooking method also because they peel right away without effort!
Once the roasted peppers are peeled, they should be cut into strips. You can enjoy them immediately as a side dish seasoned with a drizzle of oil, salt, parsley, and, if desired, lemon juice, or you can freeze them in food bags for up to 6 months to have them ready all winter, or they can be made as a Natural Pepper Preserve.
Roasted peppers are also the main ingredient to make pasta with Pepper Pesto Pasta and the Potato and Pepper Salad. Try this recipe, and you will love them!!
Therefore, this is an excellent alternative so you don’t have to turn on the oven when it’s too hot.
Pepper contains excellent nutritional properties for our needs.
Vitamins A, B, C, and E, and minerals. They are rich in water and fiber. They also contain a very low amount of sodium and are practically free of proteins and fats.
This side dish, which can also be used as an appetizer, is quick and particularly suitable to be prepared in advance.
If needed, you can also roast the peppers the day before, clean them, and season them only at the time of use.

Ingredients
Air Fryer Roasted Peppers
- 2 red peppers
- 2 yellow peppers
- as needed extra virgin olive oil
- salt
Tools
- Air Fryers
- Air Fryer Papers
Steps
Air Fryer Roasted Peppers
Wash the peppers and place whole in the air fryer basket.
Or on the appropriate shelves of the air fryer
Cook at 392°F (200°C) for 20/25 minutes, turning them halfway through cooking.
(I want to remind you that each air fryer has its own timings and different temperatures, so check accordingly).
Once cooked, place them while still hot in a plastic or paper food bag, seal and let cool for 10 minutes, this way they will peel right off.
This way, the skin, thanks to the steam, will start to detach, and it will be easier to peel them.
Be careful to remove it all, including the seeds and inner filaments, which make the peppers indigestible.
Cut the peppers into strips and put them in a bowl.
Add salt and season, pour the oil, and mix everything.
Finally, season them with salt and olive oil.
A side dish that becomes even more enticing if you add a couple of sliced garlic cloves, basil leaves, thyme, or marjoram.
Or according to your tastes.
Advice
Cooking times may vary depending on the size of your peppers. Adjust accordingly.
I used red and yellow peppers, but you can choose the varieties you prefer.
You can freeze them in strips in food bags for up to 6 months.
You can store them in the fridge in an airtight container for 3 days.
