Air Fryer Shrimp. Easy, quick, and delightful: light, visually appealing, and very tasty, ready in 10 minutes.
Here’s the perfect recipe to serve the most versatile crustacean all year round. They can be served as an appetizer, a main course, or added to salads or the dressing of pasta or risotto dishes.
A simple yet flavorful main dish that is prepared with no difficulty, using few and simple ingredients to bring an unusual dish to the table.
Like many recipes featuring this crustacean, this one is also convenient and quick.
In fact, shrimp always cook very quickly, and here the cooking is even faster thanks to the use of an air fryer, which retains heat much better compared to an oven, ensuring lightning-fast cooking times.
Moreover, this recipe is lighter because no breading is used and because air fryer cooking requires very little oil. As we know, the appliance uses circulating hot air to cook food, effectively reducing the need for large amounts of oil and creating crispy, golden dishes with results similar to traditional frying but with significantly less fat.
To prepare these air fryer shrimp, we need to clean each shrimp and set the tails aside. Season them with oil, salt, and spices to taste: I used sweet paprika, which will also enhance the shrimp’s red color.
The tricks to cooking shrimp in an air fryer are few and simple.
Place them in a single layer, without overlapping, and arrange them on a sheet of perforated parchment paper so they don’t stick to the basket.
Cook them briefly, turning them halfway, and in just over 5/7 minutes they’ll be ready! Cooking times obviously vary depending on the size of the shrimp.
Accompany these shrimp with a salad, baby carrots, or grilled vegetables. Here’s the quick recipe to follow.
Great served even in summer. They’re perfect for the nice season because they allow us not to turn on the oven!

Air Fryer Shrimp
“To prepare air fryer shrimp, choose quality crustaceans, whether fresh or frozen, as long as they are thawed and well-drained”.
Start by cleaning the shrimp: shell them, removing heads and shells.
(For aesthetics, I recommend leaving the tail tip intact).
Make an incision along the back with a knife and remove the black vein.
Place the peeled shrimp in a bowl and season them with oil, salt, and sweet paprika. Mix well so that the seasoning is evenly distributed.
Arrange the shrimp inside the air fryer basket lined with perforated parchment paper, avoiding overlap.
Cook at 374 °F for 7 minutes, turning them halfway through.
Serve our air fryer shrimp with chives.
Enjoy your meal.
Tips
Arrange them in a single layer in the fryer basket so as not to overload it. Also, remember to check them from time to time, and shake the basket at least a couple of times to allow the fish to cook evenly.
To store the shrimp prepared this way, let them cool completely and then transfer them to an airtight container, which you’ll place in the refrigerator for a maximum of 2-3 days.
Notes
First of all, when buying shrimp, check that the head, equipped with antennae, is not partially detached from the body, as often happens when shrimp are frozen. Avoid any shrimp whose eyes are missing or have shrunk. When a crustacean is fresh, its eyes are shiny and occupy much of the head.
Beware of shrimp that smell like chlorine, as it is often used to mask the smell of poor preservation. Fresh shrimp do not stink; they smell of seawater or seaweeds.
