Breaded Artichokes in Air Fryer

Breaded artichokes in an air fryer. A light variation of the classic fried artichokes, perfect to serve as an appetizer or aperitif that everyone will enjoy.

Crunchy, tasty, and versatile, they can be served as a side dish for meat or fish dishes.

They are truly amazing! The only thing that requires patience is cleaning the artichokes.. but it will surely be rewarded by the taste!

Accompanied by a glass of good sparkling wine, they can become an appetizing finger food for an aperitif.
They are among the classic recipes of winter cuisine, much loved and appreciated throughout the country.

Remembering that artichokes are vegetables that contain fibers and minerals such as sodium, potassium, phosphorus, and calcium.
Artichokes lend themselves to many different preparations: stuffed, baked, stewed, in salads, in creams, in sauces or dressings, gratinated, fried, boiled, as a topping for a good pizza, paired with a good risotto or as a base for special savory pies, as a side dish paired with a good second course of red meat or chicken; and even fish doesn’t disdain their company.

I recommend putting some cut lemon in the water where we will throw the artichokes to cook for a few minutes. Lemon juice is essential to prevent the artichokes from blackening immediately after cooking.

I’m sure everyone will go crazy for them and the breading makes them suitable even for being served to the little ones!

In the tips, you’ll also find the oven cooking method.

  • Clean the artichokes, remove the tougher outer leaves until reaching the heart, cut off the tips and divide them in half.
With a small knife, remove the leaves and the annoying inner fuzz.

Cut them in half and then into slices and immerse them in water where you have squeezed the lemon juice; this will slow down the oxidation process and prevent them from blackening.
