Pork Chops with Onions

Tender and tasty pork chops with onions. A succulent and exquisite second course, very easy and quick to prepare: a perfect last-minute dish!

Here is a truly succulent and exquisite meat main course: Pork Chops with Onions and White Wine. And it’s not just tasty and flavorful: it’s also very easy and quick to prepare! In short, the perfect last-minute dish when we need to organize a quick lunch or dinner.

White wine is ideal for giving pork meat, which tends to become a bit dry during cooking, moisture and tenderness.

Golden onions, with their sweet and delicate taste, pair perfectly with wine and enrich this dish with flavor and color.

This is a recipe that lends itself to many variations: instead of pork chops, we can use chicken or turkey breast, and we can make chunks or strips instead of leaving the slices whole. The choice of onions is also completely open: if we don’t like golden ones, red ones are also fine.

The thick sauce that will form during cooking (also thanks to the flour in which we will coat the pork chops or loin) will be a bomb… generously pour over the chicken breast once plated and we’ll be sure our guests will want seconds!

In short, the pork chops will be so appetizing and flavorful, it’s a very simple rustic second course but it guarantees us a great impression at the table.

Come on, let’s go to the stove and let me know if you liked it!

Ingredients

Pork Chops with Onions

  • 4 pork chops
  • 3 large golden onions
  • to taste extra virgin olive oil
  • salt
  • pepper
  • Half glass dry white wine
  • 1 leaf bay leaf
  • to taste flour

Tools

  • Frying Pan
  • Cutting Board
  • Knife

Steps

Pork Chops with Onions

  • On a cutting board, clean and finely slice all the onions. Then place them at the bottom of the pan with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
Let them wilt over medium heat for a few minutes and season with salt and pepper.
(If you like, you can add 1/2 bay leaves).

  • In the meantime, coat the pork chops in flour on both sides.

If the meat has any sinews, cut them this way to prevent the meat from curling during cooking.

  • When the onions are well wilted and almost caramelized, remove them from the pan and set them aside.
In the same pan, place the chops.

After a few minutes, turn the side and deglaze with white wine.

  • Continue cooking, turning occasionally for about 15 minutes, until golden brown or almost at the end, reincorporate the previously sautéed onions and let them flavor for just a few minutes.
    Serve very hot.
