Ingredients for the Sandwich Cake with Salami and Ricotta

  • 4 slices sandwich bread
  • 2 leaves lettuce
  • 2 eggs
  • 2.8 oz salami
  • 7.1 oz ricotta
  • 7.1 oz spreadable cheese
  • 3 quail eggs
  • to taste chives
  • to taste rosemary
  • to taste edible flowers
  • to taste lamb's lettuce
  • 1.06 oz green olives in brine (pitted)

What You Need for the Sandwich Cake with Salami and Ricotta

  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Spatula
  • 2 Small Bowls
  • 1 Tray

Procedure for the Sandwich Cake with Salami and Ricotta

  • The ricotta to be used must be drained of its whey the night before. Leave it, therefore, in its own basket and place it inside a container, without letting it touch the bottom.

  • In a large bowl, place the fresh spreadable cheese and the drained ricotta, and using a fork or an electric mixer, mix well to perfectly combine.

  • Wash the lettuce leaves and dry them well. Cut them into strips with a knife. Hard boil the eggs, peel them and cut them into pieces. Cut the olives into slices.

  • On a tray, place the first slice of sandwich bread and spread 1/4 of the cheese mixture on it, using the knife blade or a spatula.

  • Add half of the crumbled eggs and cover the entire surface with the lettuce. Continue with the second slice of bread.

  • Spread the cheese on this slice too. Place the sliced salami and olive slices on top. I used a small salami, but everyone can choose as they wish.

  • Spread the ricotta and spreadable cheese mixture again on the third slice and repeat the egg and lettuce operation.

  • Cover with the fourth slice and this time add only the cheeses. Garnish the surface with 3 quail eggs cut in half lengthwise, various herbs, and edible flowers.

  • Store the Sandwich Cake with Salami and Ricotta in the fridge overnight. This way, the bread will soften and absorb more flavor.

  • When ready to serve, cut into slices or squares. To facilitate cutting, skewer the sandwich bread with toothpicks to keep it steady.

    Enjoy your meal!
