The stuffed sandwich bread trees are delicious appetizers that, when brought to the table during the Christmas holidays, will add a special touch to your lunch or dinner. Making them is really very simple, and they can be filled as you like. In the case of my sandwich bread trees, I used rectangular bread, the American kind, and filled them with cheese and ham, while the top part was garnished with pistachio crumbs and pomegranate seeds. Prepare them; besides being cheerful and very easy to make, they will especially delight the children.

Ingredients for Stuffed Sandwich Bread Trees
- 2 slices long sandwich bread
- 2 slices cooked ham
- 5.3 oz spreadable cheese
- as needed pomegranate
- as needed pistachio crumbs
- as needed poppy seeds
What You Need for Stuffed Sandwich Bread Trees
- 1 Cutting Board
- 1 Spatula
- 1 Bowl
Preparation of Stuffed Sandwich Bread Trees
Cut the ham slices on a cutting board, reducing them to very small pieces.
In a bowl, place the fresh spreadable cheese and mash it with a fork.
Add the chopped ham and mix well.
Place a slice of long American bread, without crust, on the cutting board.
Spread half of the cheese and ham mixture on the first slice and place another slice on top.
Spread this sandwich bread slice with the remaining cheese and ham.
Cut the stuffed sandwich bread into triangles. Insert skewers between the two slices at the center of the base to act as the tree trunk.
Sprinkle some trees with pistachio crumbs and others with poppy seeds, or sprinkle all with one or the other ingredient to taste.
Seed the pomegranate and scatter its seeds on the surface of the trees. Arrange the appetizers on a serving plate.
It’s better to let them rest in the fridge a bit before serving.
