Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, chocolate chip cookies are irresistible and very easy to make. These American cookies with their unmistakable aroma captivate both young and old with their perfect texture: a slightly golden crust and a soft core full of chocolate chips that melt with the first bite.
I often make them at home, especially when I crave something good but quick. It takes just a few ingredients, and in less than half an hour, the dough is ready for the oven. The secret is to let the balls rest in the fridge before baking: this way, they will retain their shape and remain delicious inside.
At breakfast with coffee, as a snack with milk, or as a dessert after dinner, chocolate chip cookies are always a good idea. And while they bake, the kitchen fills with a scent that feels like home and homemade sweetness.
Try them too: they’ll disappear in no time! Absolutely a must, I promise.

- 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Tools

Preparing Chocolate Chip Cookies
In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and a pinch of salt. Mix and set aside.
In another bowl, work the softened butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until creamy.
Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix together.
Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix well.
Add the chocolate chips and quickly mix until a uniform dough is obtained.
Form balls of about 1.4 oz, place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper well spaced and let them rest in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
Bake in a preheated static oven at 375°F for about 13-15 minutes, until golden.
Let cool on a rack: the cookies will firm up as they cool.
Storage
You can store the chocolate chip cookies in a tin box or an airtight cookie container for up to a week. They remain crunchy and delicious as if freshly made. If you want to keep them longer, you can also freeze them once baked and defrost them when needed.
