The recipe for Christmas cookies is very simple and quick. They are very cute, tasty, and scented with orange and cinnamon, making them a wonderful gift idea. In fact, I prepared and packaged them individually in food-grade plastic bags, sealed with a beautiful Christmas ribbon, along with a pack featuring wine donuts and hazelnut biscotti. These packages were very popular and successful as gifting something genuine and homemade is a lovely gesture of love. Let’s prepare them together with our children for guaranteed fun!
I’ll see you on my Facebook page, on my Instagram profile, on TikTok, on Pinterest, and on my YouTube channel with my videos for a greeting and a comment.
See you soon, Susy

Preparing the Christmas Cookies
In a large enough bowl, I add the flour and make a well in the center. Then I add a pinch of salt, sugar, softened butter, grated orange zest, and the eggs. Initially, I mix with a fork, then continue with my hands.
I form the so-called shortcrust pastry ball and wrap it in plastic wrap, letting it rest in the fridge for at least a couple of hours. After the time has passed, I roll it out with a rolling pin (it should be 0.2 inches thick). Using the Christmas cutters, I make the characters and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. I put the tray in the freezer for 1 hour, this step is crucial to ensure their shape remains intact after baking. Then I bake at 350°F for 15 minutes, remove them from the oven, and let them cool well.
In the meantime, I prepare the royal icing for decoration, or we can use the ready-made one and then let our creativity flow. These wonderful cookies are beautiful and very well-liked. 🐾
