The soft hazelnut nougat is an easy and quick Christmas dessert, perfect to prepare in advance and give as a gift. Dark chocolate, hazelnut cream, and praline hazelnuts are enough to create a delicious, fragrant dessert with a soft and enveloping texture, further enhanced by the crunchiness of the nuts.
Every year, I bring it to the table during the holidays, and it disappears in a flash: everyone loves it, both adults and children. If you like quick Christmas desserts, also try my Pandoro Swirls and Pandoro filled with mascarpone cream, two simple and spectacular ideas perfect for the holidays.
You can customize this nougat with almonds, pistachios, or mixed nuts: the result will always be delicious. I make it with praline hazelnuts because they add an irresistible crunchy note, but natural ones work just fine too.
Try it: it’s simple, quick, and instantly brings the scent of Christmas to your home.
See you soon

Ingredients for Easy Soft Hazelnut Nougat
- 7 oz 60% dark chocolate
- 1/2 cup hazelnut cream
- 1/2 cup praline hazelnuts
Useful Tools
- Mold
- Bowl
- Spatula
Prepare Easy Soft Hazelnut Nougat
Cut the hazelnuts in half and set aside.
Break the dark chocolate into pieces and melt it in a bain-marie or microwave, stirring occasionally until you obtain a smooth, fluid cream. Add the hazelnut cream and mix well, then add the hazelnuts and mix carefully.
Pour the mixture into a silicone nougat mold, level, and compact it uniformly with a spatula. Refrigerate to set for at least 1 full day, the texture will be perfect.
When the homemade nougat is nice and firm, gently remove it from the mold, slice it… and immediately taste the first piece, because resisting is impossible!
Storage and Useful Tips
I store the soft hazelnut nougat in the refrigerator for 5-6 days, well wrapped or in an airtight container.
