Gratin cherry tomatoes in 10 minutes in the air fryer, a truly excellent side dish, that with the help of the air fryer, can be prepared in no time. So tasty and delicious that there won’t be any leftovers, but if there are, try using them to dress pasta. Maybe add some cubed mozzarella and fresh basil and you’ll taste how good it is! I often prepare them because they can also be considered a main dish. Light, but sometimes, if the first course is abundant and rich in fats and calories, like a carbonara pasta can be, some tasty vegetables are really enough to complete a dinner.

- Difficulty: Easy
- Cost: Cheap
- Preparation time: 10 Minutes
- Portions: for 2 people
- Cooking methods: Air Frying
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 14 oz cherry tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon grated parmesan
- 1 pinch dried oregano
- 1 clove garlic
- A few leaves basil
- to taste salt
- to taste extra virgin olive oil
Tools
- 1 Air Fryer
- 1 Spoon
- 1 Bowl
- 1 Garlic Press
- 1 Baking Pan
- 1 Air Fryer Parchment Paper
Steps
Wash and dry the cherry tomatoes well. Remove their green stems and cut them in half lengthwise.
Line a baking pan of the size suitable for your air fryer with suitable parchment paper. This step is not mandatory, but the pan will not crust and it will be easier to clean.
Arrange the tomatoes in the pan, close to each other, with the cut side facing up.
In a sufficiently large bowl, mix the ingredients for the tomato topping. Put the bread, cheese, crushed garlic, herbs, and salt in the container, mix them well with a spoon, add a couple of tablespoons of oil and mix again.
Sprinkle the tomatoes with this mixture. Drizzle them again on the surface with extra virgin olive oil, otherwise, the bread might fly in the fryer and settle on the heating element.
Turn on the air fryer and preheat to 383°F for 2 minutes, using the VEG function. Then cook, still at 383°F for 10 minutes. Check the cooking and possibly extend it by another 2 minutes.
My Advice
Gratin cherry tomatoes can be eaten hot or cold. If you have leftovers, you can store them in the refrigerator for a couple of days, but the bread will absorb the vegetable’s moisture and lose its crunchiness. You can use large tomatoes for this preparation, cut into slices not too thin.
