Chicken Wings with Peppers

Pan-fried chicken wings with peppers. You either hate or love chicken wings — I love them! A few days ago I bought a pack of chicken wings at the supermarket. I rarely buy them because most of my family members don’t like them, but this time I treated myself: I brought them home and cooked pan-fried chicken wings with peppers. A tasty main course that I shared with Irene, who loves them like me. If you’re looking for a tasty idea to prepare chicken wings, I recommend trying this, because slightly sweet-and-sour and with peppers, the chicken wings become delicious! Let’s go to the kitchen — I’ll tell you the recipe. But first I remind you that if you want to stay updated on all my recipes, you can follow my Facebook page (here), my Instagram profile (here) and that in my collection of Easy recipes with peppers, you will find other tasty ideas to enjoy peppers.

Ingredients to make chicken wings with peppers

  • 3 peppers (yellow and red)
  • 1 onion (large)
  • 3 lb chicken wings
  • to taste salt
  • to taste extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

Tools

  • Pan
  • Lid

Steps

  • Prepare the chicken wings by singeing any remaining feathers. Place them in a large pan and brown them on all sides.

Move the wings to another container.

  • Peel and slice the onion, rinse the peppers, remove the stem, seeds and membranes, and cut them into strips about 3/8 inch wide. Put everything in a very large pan with a drizzle of oil, season with salt and let soften. Add the chicken wings and cook for 35–40 minutes over moderate heat.

  • At the end of cooking, deglaze with the vinegar, add the sugar, stir, let the liquid evaporate and turn off the heat. Serve the chicken wings with peppers after letting them rest in the pot with the lid on for 20 minutes.

If necessary, you can add water during cooking as needed.

  • Store any leftover wings in the fridge in an airtight container and consume within 24 hours after reheating.
