How to cook the Soft-boiled Egg

  • Soft-boiled eggs, with this cooking technique the yolks inside the egg remain creamy or runny and even the white is not completely cooked, yet remains set.

  • To make perfect soft-boiled eggs, simply immerse the eggs in room-temperature lightly salted water and, after it comes to a boil, cook for exactly 3 minutes. Be careful to place the eggs in the water without cracking them and let them simmer gently over moderate heat to avoid breaking the shells. Remove them from the water with a slotted spoon and run them under cold running water to stop the cooking; place them in an egg cup or an espresso cup and serve immediately.

Tips and notes

I recommend enjoying soft-boiled eggs immediately and I do not recommend freezing them. To make them even tastier, sprinkle with black pepper and enjoy with toasted bread.
