How to Cook Onions in the Air Fryer

  • To prepare air fryer roasted onions, start by peeling the onions. If you are using round onions (golden, white, or red), cut them into slices about 0.4 inches thick (1). If you are using flat onions, cut them in half. Line the basket of the air fryer with special paper, then arrange the onion slices side by side (2). Season with about a tablespoon of oil and one of vinegar; to distribute them better, you can use an oil sprayer (3) or a kitchen brush.

  • Add a pinch of salt, a grind of pepper, and a pinch of dried oregano (4). Cook the onions in the air fryer at 338°F for 10 minutes. Check the cooking degree and, if necessary, continue for another 2 minutes. When they are soft and golden, remove the basket (5) and let them cool.

Storage

You can store the onions in the refrigerator, closed in a glass container, for about 3 days.

Tips and Variations

You can also flavor the onions with chives or parsley, but add them at the end of cooking.
