The banana and peanut butter brownies are soft and quick treats made with only 3 ingredients without flour and without sugar, except for what is naturally in the banana: a healthy treat perfect for breakfast or a guilt-free snack! Often, you might have overripe bananas at home, too ripe to eat as they are, but you can use them to make quick desserts like banana cookies with chocolate chips, banana pancakes, or these brownies with cocoa and peanut butter. The recipe is very simple and doesn’t require any special tools except for a blender: you can put everything in, blend, and bake! The sweetness of ripe bananas eliminates the need for added sugar, while the peanut butter not only gives the batter the right consistency but also adds a savory and slightly salty note to the dessert, making it even more delicious.

How to Make Cocoa Brownies with Ripe Bananas
To prepare the banana brownies, first choose very ripe bananas, which are softer and sweeter. Peel them and cut them into slices (1). Put them in a blender and blend them until a homogeneous mixture is obtained (2).
Then add the cocoa (3) and the peanut butter (4). To prepare a healthy dessert, especially if you are on a diet, choose a peanut butter as free from added sugars and fats as possible, or a 100% peanut cream.
Blend again for a few seconds, until you get a homogeneous and fairly consistent batter (5). Line a 16 cm square baking dish with parchment paper and distribute the mixture, leveling it with a spoon (6).
Bake the banana and peanut butter brownies in a preheated oven at 356°F (180°C) for 30 minutes. The dessert should set but remain moist inside. Take it out of the oven and let it cool completely (7).
Once cooled, gently remove it from the parchment paper and cut it into 6 rectangles (8). You can enjoy the banana brownies for breakfast or a sweet break during the day.
Storage
You can store banana brownies at room temperature for about 3 days.
Tips and Variations
In my opinion, if using ripe bananas, there is no need to further sweeten the batter. However, if you wish, you can add a teaspoon of maple syrup or agave syrup to the mixture.
For an even more delicious dessert, add a tablespoon of dark chocolate chips.
