I don’t know if it happens to you too, to suddenly crave something sweet during the day. It happened to me today, so here is the apple and jam strudel ready in no time, naturally made with puff pastry.
Usually, when I have more time, I also prepare the dough, but if you want to eat it shortly after baking, puff pastry is definitely a great solution. I used apples and some jam I had at the bottom of a jar. You can enrich the filling with pine nuts, raisins, and even walnuts and almonds.

Ingredients for Apple and Jam Strudel
- 1 puff pastry (rectangular)
- 14.1 oz apples (golden)
- 3 tablespoons plum jam
- lemon (zested)
- 1 pinch cinnamon powder (optional)
- 2.1 oz dry biscuits
Steps for Apple and Jam Strudel
First, peel the apples, removing the core. Then cut them into four quarters and subsequently into thin slices. Place the apples in a large bowl and add the grated zest of a lemon.
Now add the jam, use whatever you have at home, also add the finely crumbled biscuits, then mix with a spatula.
Unroll the puff pastry, place the filling in the center, then spread it over the entire surface, leaving 1-2 fingers free along the edges.
Fold the free pastry edges inward on all four sides, then roll the puff pastry into a cylinder. Place the roll in a baking tray and bake.
Make a few cuts on the surface (this will allow steam to escape during baking) and bake for about 25-30 minutes in a preheated static oven at 392°F.
Once cooked, remove the tray from the oven and transfer the dessert to a rack to cool.
