Steps for Chickpea Burgers

  • As mentioned above, this recipe is really very easy to make, just a mixer and you’re done. I used chickpea flour and gluten-free bread for various reasons, but you can replace the chickpea flour with all-purpose flour and use regular breadcrumbs.

    Chickpea Burgers
  • Peel the carrot, wash it and cut it into small pieces, and place it in the mixer bowl or food processor with blades.

  • Add canned chickpeas, washed and well-drained, the carrot, also add the garlic clove, mustard, parsley, chickpea flour, breadcrumbs, and a pinch of salt.

  • Blend well until you get a homogeneous mixture. Place in the fridge and let it rest for 30 minutes.

  • Take the mixture and form the burgers using a pastry ring. Take some of the mixture and place it inside the ring, pressing it down well with the back of a spoon. Continue until all the mixture is used up.

  • Take a non-stick pan and pour in a couple of tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, cook the burgers for 5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.

  • Serve them with mixed salad, oven-cooked cherry tomatoes, or a seasonal side dish of your choice.
