Ingredients for Coffee and Chocolate Cake
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sunflower oil
- 3.5 oz coffee (at room temperature)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tsp baking powder
Steps for Coffee and Chocolate Cake
The first thing to do is prepare the coffee, which should be cold or lukewarm. Since only 3.5 oz is needed, take it in the morning when you make your coffee for breakfast.
Separate the yolks from the egg whites. In one bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff, and in another, beat the yolks with the sugar.
Add the sunflower oil to the bowl with the yolks, pour in the cold coffee, and mix well. Now add the flour, sifted cocoa powder, and baking powder. Stir until all ingredients are well blended.
It’s time to gently fold in the beaten egg whites, a little at a time, stirring from bottom to top.
Grease and flour a cake pan or line it with parchment paper. I didn’t have a small pan available, so I used a 10-inch pan, and my coffee and chocolate cake remained low.
Bake in a pre-heated oven at 350°F for about 40/45 minutes. Use a toothpick to check if it’s done. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool. Before serving your coffee and chocolate cake, dust it with powdered sugar.
