Salami Muffins in Air Fryer

These small salami muffins in the air fryer are perfect to present on your table during the holidays, as an appetizer or at parties with friends. You can prepare them the day before and heat them slightly an hour before serving: they are good hot but also cold, very soft and tasty, perfect to enjoy at any moment of the day.

Ingredients for Salami Muffins in Air Fryer

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2.8 oz Hungarian salami
  • 2.8 oz cheese (grated pecorino or parmesan)
  • 1 egg
  • 1.4 tbsp sunflower oil
  • salt (and pepper)
  • 2 tsp instant yeast for savory preparations

Steps for Salami Muffins in Air Fryer

  • For this recipe, you can use grated cheese like parmesan or pecorino. If you prefer to use a different cheese, like regular or smoked provolone, cut the cheese into small cubes. For the salami, I used whole slices cut in half.

  • Pour the egg, vegetable oil, milk, grated cheese, salt, and pepper into a bowl. Mix the ingredients with a whisk until a smooth batter is obtained.

  • Add the flour and the yeast for savory cakes and resume mixing to eliminate all lumps.

  • If you are using silicone molds, you don’t need to grease them, but if you are using disposable aluminum ones, I recommend greasing and lightly flouring them.

  • With a spoon, pour some batter into the muffin cups, then place the slices of salami in the center and cover with more batter.

  • Place the muffin cups in the air fryer and cook at 356°F (180°C) for about 15 minutes or until the desired golden-brown color is achieved. Once cooked, let them cool slightly before serving.
