The plum jam tart I am proposing today is my mom’s recipe, a soft tart rich in homemade plum jam (recipe). This dessert is a classic of Italian tradition, perfect for breakfast, a snack, or to accompany an afternoon tea.

Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 5.3 oz butter
- 1 egg
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 pinch baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 14 oz jam
Tools
- 1 Worktop
- 1 Rolling Pin
- 1 Tart Pan
Steps
Place the sifted flour on a worktop, add the butter in pieces, and rub the flour and butter between your hands until waterproofed.
Add the powdered sugar, a pinch of salt, and continue to work with your hands.
Finally, pour in the egg yolks and knead everything quickly.
Form a dough ball, wrap it with plastic film, and put it in the fridge for at least half an hour before using.
You can make the shortcrust with a mixer or better yet with a kitchen cutter.
Roll out the shortcrust in a 9-inch tart pan, leaving 1/4 aside.
Pour the jam, spreading it well with the help of a spoon.
Roll out the remaining shortcrust and cut it into strips.
Decorate the tart’s surface.
Bake for 45 minutes at 355°F in a preheated static oven.
Remove from the oven and let cool before unmolding.
