Ingredients for Apple Orange and Cinnamon Pound Cake
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 apples
- 1 orange (organic with edible peel)
- 1/4 cup sunflower oil
- 1 packet baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- as needed cinnamon sticks (to grate)

Preparation of Apple Orange and Cinnamon Pound Cake
Let’s see how to prepare the pound cake.
Clean the apples by removing the peel and core, set half aside, cut the apples into pieces and put them in a bowl with some lemon juice so they don’t turn dark, grate the orange zest into the blender bowl, remove the orange peel and cut into pieces, add to the apple and blend everything until it becomes a puree. Once the fruit is blended, pour it into a bowl, add the eggs, sugar, oil, and mix well with an electric beater, finally add the sifted baking powder and flour, combine with a spatula then continue mixing with the beaters until the mixture becomes smooth and homogeneous. Pour into the greased and floured pound cake mold, cut the remaining apple into slices and place each slice in the center of the pound cake from one side to the other, sprinkle a good amount of cinnamon on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 30 minutes. Always check the cooking by doing the toothpick test to verify if it’s cooked.
Notes
Make sure to wait until the pound cake is cool before removing it from the mold, otherwise it will break. Store in a closed container or simply on the cold oven shelf for 4-5 days.
