Nutella Cookie Trees

Nutella cookie trees are a very cute and beautiful idea to see, very simple to prepare, to use as a placeholder for holiday lunches or even as a centerpiece, you will impress your guests, perfect also as a gift idea, and above all, prepare the cookies with your children, they will be delighted.

Ingredients Nutella Cookie Trees

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • zest of 1 orange
  • juice of 1 orange
  • 1 small glass sambuca
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • to taste powdered sugar
  • to taste colored sugar sprinkles
  • to taste Nutella®

Preparation Nutella Cookie Trees

  • Let’s see how to prepare the Nutella cookie trees.

    In a bowl, pour the sifted flour and baking powder, the grated orange zest, the sugar, 3 eggs, the orange juice, the sambuca, the melted butter, and start mixing with your hands, then continue kneading well until it becomes a smooth and compact dough, like shortcrust pastry but softer, let it rest for 15 minutes. After the time has passed, start rolling out the dough with the help of a rolling pin, making a thickness of about half a centimeter.

  • Take the cookie cutters and cut the dough, remove the excess dough, work it again to reuse later. In a small bowl, beat an egg with 2 teaspoons of sugar, place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and brush the cookies with the prepared egg, take the colored sprinkles and decorate all the points of the cookies, bake in the hot oven and cook at 350°F for about 12 minutes or at least until the desired browning. Once ready, let them cool.

  • Put Nutella in a piping bag, make a small cut, start filling the cookies, take the smallest cookie first to make the trunk, put a bit of Nutella in the center, place the larger cookie on top, fill the center with Nutella and continue with the rest of the cookies going from largest to smallest. Then prepare the other trees. Plate and serve with powdered sugar and Christmas decorations.
