Baked Pasta Chips

Baked pasta chips are a unique variation of classic pasta. In fact, it is cooked normally in water and coarse salt, drained al dente, and then seasoned with your preferred spices. I saw this recipe trending online and thought I would try it at home too. You can use any type of pasta you prefer, in this case, I chose rigatoni and seasoned them with extra virgin olive oil, sweet paprika, slightly stronger paprika, a pinch of black pepper, and a touch of turmeric.

Steps to make baked pasta chips

  • To prepare baked pasta chips, first, put a pot with water and coarse salt on the stove. When it comes to a boil, add the pasta. In this case, I chose rigatoni, but you can choose any type of pasta you prefer and cook it for the time specified on the package, but it should be al dente because it will cook for another 20 minutes in the oven. After the cooking time, drain the pasta and place it in a bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, 1 tablespoon of sweet paprika, a touch of hot paprika, 1 pinch of salt, 1 pinch of black pepper, and a touch of ground turmeric.

  • You can decide the amount of spices based on the flavor you want to give to the dish. Mix well. Now take a baking tray, line it with parchment paper, and spread the pasta on it, trying to keep it well spaced.

  • Preheat the convection oven to 392°F and bake the pasta for 20 minutes. It should become golden and crispy. Remove the pasta from the oven, let it cool a bit, then serve it. If you want, you can pair it with a slightly spicy sauce or barbecue sauce.

Storage and Tips

You can store the pasta in the refrigerator for one day, and if you want to reheat it, you can briefly microwave it or put it back in the oven.
