Brussels Sprouts and Bacon in a Pan

Brussels sprouts and bacon in a pan are a truly delicious and flavorful side dish, very well-balanced in taste, as the more delicate Brussels sprouts contrast with the bold and smoky flavor of bacon. You can cut the bacon into cubes, matchsticks, or strips as I did. They are perfect to pair with a good fish or meat dish. I would match them well with these main courses:

Steps for making Brussels Sprouts with Bacon in a Pan

  • To prepare Brussels sprouts with bacon in a pan, first, clean the sprouts well. Remove the base and any damaged or yellowed outer leaves and rinse thoroughly. Then cut them in half. Now take a large pot and bring salted water to a boil. Boil your sprouts for about 10 minutes.

  • Meanwhile, clean the shallot by removing the outer skin and chop it finely. Also prepare the bacon cut into strips, I used sliced bacon, so it’s very thin, but if you prefer, you can choose bacon cubes or matchsticks.

  • When they are cooked, drain the sprouts. If you want, you can use the same pan or take a non-stick pan and add a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, sauté the shallot and bacon together for a couple of minutes (this will make the bacon crispy). Now add the sprouts, salt and pepper to taste, and sauté them for about 5 minutes. Your sprouts are
