The heart-shaped mini pizzas with a ready-made pizza base are perfect to serve as an appetizer or hors d’oeuvre for a Valentine’s Day dinner with your loved one. These mini pizzas are really simple and quick to prepare; all you need is a roll of ready-made pizza base, mozzarella (I used shredded mozzarella for this recipe), tomato sauce, and dried oregano. You can roll out the leftover scraps with a rolling pin and make more mini pizzas; they might become slightly thicker but still delicious. Steps to make heart-shaped mini pizzas with ready-made pizza base
To prepare heart-shaped mini pizzas with ready-made base, first, unroll a roll of ready-made pizza base that you can find in the refrigerated section of the supermarket onto a work surface; I removed the parchment paper and placed it on a large wooden cutting board. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to create the mini pizzas. Place the prepared mini pizzas on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. You can re-knead the leftover scraps to make more mini pizzas, possibly slightly thicker. In a small bowl, mix the tomato sauce, 2 pinches of salt, and dried oregano. Spread the tomato sauce on the mini pizzas, avoiding the edges. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 392°F (200°C) static. Add mozzarella to the mini pizzas; I chose pizza mozzarella.
Then, bake the heart-shaped mini pizzas in a preheated static oven at 392°F (200°C) for about 10 minutes. The mini pizzas should be golden and the mozzarella melted. They are now ready to be served as an appetizer or hors d’oeuvre for Valentine’s Day!
Storage and tips
You can store the mini pizzas in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a maximum of a couple of days.
If you want, you can also add some ingredients to the mini pizzas, but you might need to make them slightly larger.
