Kale Chips in Air Fryer

Kale Chips in Air Fryer are a great healthy alternative to potato chips. They are tasty, flavorful, and above all, healthy. I usually prepare chips in the oven, but I wanted to try with the air fryer and found that they turn out even better because they are even crunchier! For seasoning, you can choose according to personal taste; you can just add salt, black pepper, and a splash of extra virgin olive oil, or also add spices and herbs. Steps to Make Kale Chips in Air Fryer

  • To prepare kale chips in the air fryer, first clean the kale thoroughly. Take one leaf at a time and remove the hard central part. To ease cleaning, make an incision at the bottom of the leaf and by running your hand upwards, you should be able to strip the tender part of the kale. Alternatively, take a knife, hold it near the hard central rib, and cut the leaves. Now wash the leaves well and dry them thoroughly with a cloth or paper towel. Arrange the leaves in the fryer basket, making sure not to overlap them too much. Place the chopped leaves, not too small, in a bowl, add salt, pepper, sweet paprika, and optionally some aromatic herbs. I also added a mix of herbs like thyme, marjoram, rosemary, and chopped sage. Then use a sprayer to add extra virgin olive oil to the kale.

  • Cook the chips in the air fryer at 356°F for 3 minutes. Cooking time may vary depending on the type of air fryer. I tested different cooking times, and mine cooks well at 356°F. If I set it to 392°F, they become burnt and bitter. Try some tests, then perhaps halfway through the cooking, try shaking the basket to mix them. Your chips are ready to be crunched! Simple yet very tasty!
