The orange and lemon juice with honey is a refreshing, tasty drink rich in vitamins. We use two juicy oranges, half a lemon and the sweetness of a teaspoon of wildflower honey. It’s a concentrated, full-bodied juice with no added water, intended to give that boost of energy to help strengthen the immune defenses, especially during the winter period, against bad weather and seasonal ailments. Excellent for a truly complete, rich and flavorful breakfast. For the honey I suggest adding it first to a little juice so it doesn’t all settle at the bottom. Ingredients to make the orange and lemon juice with honey
- 2 oranges
- Half lemon
- 1 tsp wildflower honey
Tools
- Citrus juicer
- Cutting board
- Knife
Steps to make the orange and lemon juice with honey
To prepare the orange and lemon juice with honey, first cut the oranges and the lemon in half. Take the citrus juicer and juice the oranges and the half lemon. Then remove any small bits or seeds by straining the juice with a fine-mesh sieve. Add a teaspoon of wildflower honey if you want to keep the slightly tart and zesty flavor of the citrus, or, if you prefer it sweeter, add a heaping tablespoon of honey. If it still doesn’t seem sweet enough with the honey, you can also add granulated sugar or brown sugar to taste.
Your juice is ready to be served and enjoyed. Serve it immediately to retain the nutritional properties.
Storage and tips
The recommendation is to consume it immediately, as soon as possible, if you want to enjoy all the benefits and vitamins. However, if needed you can store it in the refrigerator for up to 1 day.
If served warm it’s perfect for a comforting treat and to help strengthen the immune system. If you make it in summer you can add an ice cube to give it an extra refreshing note that works really well.
