The Santas with Tomatoes and Mozzarella are very simple, scenic appetizers that are very cute to present on tables during the Christmas holidays. They are really easy and if you want, you can make them with your kids! They will have a lot of fun! If the piccadilly tomatoes seem too large to create Santa’s body, you can use smaller cherry tomatoes. To make the decorative stars, you can use smoked scamorza cheese for an extra touch of flavor, or a cheese like Edam.

Ingredients to prepare Santas with Tomatoes and Mozzarella
- 5 piccadilly tomatoes
- 5 cherry mozzarella balls
- to taste robiola cheese
- 1 slice smoked scamorza cheese
- to taste black olives
Steps to make Santas with Tomatoes and Mozzarella
To prepare these Santas with Tomatoes and Mozzarella, first wash all the piccadilly tomatoes well and dry them. Meanwhile, also drain the cherry mozzarella balls well; they should not be too moist. Cut the tomato about in half and place it as a base. Take a toothpick and insert it in the center of the tomato. Now insert a cherry mozzarella ball to make the head.
Cut a small piece of tomato into a triangle and use it to create a Santa hat. Place it on top of the mozzarella. Finally, take a thin slice of smoked scamorza cheese and with a star-shaped cutter make a decoration to put on top of the hat if you like. I chose the star. For the eyes, I used small pieces of black olive, and for the beard, you can use a spreadable cheese. I chose robiola because it is very creamy, and the beard turns out well. You can help yourself with a pastry syringe or with a teaspoon and your hands.
Your Santas are ready to be served! Beautiful and tasty!
Storage and Tips
You can keep them in the refrigerator until ready to use.
Do not salt them beforehand, otherwise they won’t turn out well.
