The witch’s broom puff pastry with Nutella is an easy, quick dessert. It is made with a ready-made rectangular puff pastry roll, Nutella for the filling, milk, and brown sugar for the surface. It’s a very indulgent dessert, perfect for preparing for Epiphany! If you have small children, you can have them help in the kitchen to make it! If you don’t like hazelnut cream, you can also fill it with jam or pistachio cream. For surface decoration, you can add colorful chocolates or colored sprinkles like sugar pellets. With the leftover puff pastry, I then created small hats still filled with Nutella. If you want, you can create small filled squares or make small witches’ stockings. Steps to make the witch’s broom puff pastry with Nutella
To prepare the witch’s broom puff pastry with Nutella, first unroll a rectangular puff pastry roll. Fold the pastry in half. Use a knife to try to create the shape of a witch’s broom. Remove the excess part and set it aside for later. Spread Nutella well on one broom side.
Then close it with the other pastry, sealing the edges well. At the bottom, create strips and twist them. With a piece of leftover puff pastry, create a thicker strip to place on top as decoration.
Press the handle’s edges with the tines of a fork so it doesn’t open during baking. In the meantime, preheat the static oven to 390°F. With the leftover puff pastry, you can create other shapes; I chose to create small witch hats still filled with chocolate, but you can choose the shapes you prefer. You could make, for example, small witches’ stockings. Brush the broom’s surface with some milk and sprinkle brown sugar on top. Bake and cook for about 15 minutes.
Take it out of the oven and let it cool slightly. Your witch’s broom puff pastry with Nutella is ready to be enjoyed! Beautiful, tasty, and scenic!
Storage and Tips
You can store the puff pastry with Nutella in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
If you want, you can decorate the puff pastry with colorful chocolates or colored sprinkles.
