Cookies with corn flakes and chocolate chips, also known as desert roses, are delicious treats that can be prepared in a few minutes. Ready to be enjoyed with tea or a nice hot chocolate.

Surely, browsing other cooking pages, you might find an extra ingredient like corn flour or potato starch: they are added to give a touch of extra softness. This time, I chose to use only all-purpose flour and I tell you that I achieved SUPER crispiness and crunchiness.

I love preparing these little cookies with simple ingredients that you surely have in your pantry and fridge; if you don’t have chocolate chips, you can easily chop a whole bar and you’re good to go.

Ingredients for Cookies with Corn Flakes and Chocolate Chips

  • 2 eggs
  • 4 oz sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 5 oz butter
  • 1 packet vanillin
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 7 oz corn flakes
  • 2/3 cup chocolate chips
  • powdered sugar

Steps

Procedure to prepare cookies with corn flakes and chocolate chips

  • Preparing these cookies is really very simple.

    In a bowl, add the eggs with sugar and a packet of vanillin, mix for a few moments with a wooden spoon or electric whisk. Add the softened butter, flour, and baking powder, and continue to work well.

    Mix well until you obtain a homogeneous and creamy mixture. Add the chocolate chips and continue working.

    In a small bowl, place the corn flakes and use two teaspoons to form walnut-sized balls; roll the dough balls in the cereals, covering both sides. Arrange them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated fan oven at 355°F for 20 minutes.

    Once cooked, let them cool and serve them with a nice sprinkle of powdered sugar.
