Grandma’s bundt cake is a simple and quick dessert, perfect for breakfast or a family snack, made with just a few ingredients like flour, eggs, sugar, milk, and seed oil. This soft and fragrant cake will take you back to grandma’s house, where with love, she always prepared fragrant cakes for everyone. A true comfort food that makes every moment special!
Every grandma has her version, some add a lemon zest, a handful of raisins, chocolate chips, or a secret touch that makes it unique and special. Making bundt cake with grandma was a real ritual; there was no set day to make it, but as soon as a rainy day came, we took the opportunity to fill her kitchen with something good and fragrant. One thing I will never forget when cooking with her was wearing her big apron, too wide for me, and using her slightly floured wooden table where we laid all the ingredients. My grandma always had precise and delicate gestures: she poured the flour gently, broke the eggs without ever making a mistake, and worked the dough with love. I, on the other hand, was a whirlwind: I liked sticking my hands in the flour, tasting the eggs whipped with sugar using a wooden spoon, and sitting on a stool to watch the bundt cake while it was baking through the oven glass, never opening it because doing so would ruin the cake’s rise, deflating it. Once baking was completed, we let it cool a bit and then cut a slice while still warm. Grandma told me that the first bite was the most delicious and contained all the fragrance and love you put into making it.
As you can see, I’ve gone on a bit, but I really wanted to tell you about my grandma and the love she transmitted to me in the kitchen!
