Grilled radicchio is a simple and quick recipe to prepare with both long Treviso radicchio and round radicchio. In both cases, just clean the radicchio, cook it on a grill, and season it with oil, salt, and mint. At the end, you can add a bit of balsamic glaze to make it tastier. In just a few minutes your side dish will be ready!
Grilled radicchio is also a great recipe for those following a diet. Its remarkable nutritional properties and low-calorie content (only 16 kcal per 100 grams) make it absolutely light! It’s ideal to eat it raw or cooked in a pan to retain its properties, it’s important not to burn it while cooking.

- extra virgin olive oil
- to taste mint (fresh)
- to taste salt
- to taste balsamic vinegar glaze

Grilled Radicchio Steps
To cook the grilled radicchio, start by removing the outer leaves. Wash the leaves thoroughly and dry them with a clean cloth without breaking them.
Heat a cast-iron grill and place the radicchio on top. Let it cook for two minutes on each side.
Meanwhile, put the extra virgin olive oil, salt, and fresh mint leaves in a small bowl.
Mix everything with a teaspoon and set aside for a few minutes.
Transfer the radicchio to a serving dish and dress with the oil prepared earlier.
If desired, you can add a bit of balsamic glaze and some fresh mint leaves.
I recommend preparing the radicchio a couple of hours in advance, so it has time to absorb the flavors better.
