Today I present you a main dish that I love so much; the pasta wheels salad.
Summer is the time of year when we make recipes with various types of pasta to cook and then eat them cold or in salad form. Let’s face it, preparing these pasta salads is very convenient for us moms, allowing us to prepare them the day before so we can consume them for at least two days. We can fill them as we like, according to our family’s needs; I make it with tuna, cooked ham, corn, and cherry tomatoes, but my daughters add some sauce like mayonnaise to make it even more flavorful. A few leaves of basil or mint are essential to give it extra freshness.

- 5.6 oz tuna in oil
- 2.8 oz sweet corn, canned, drained
- 8.8 oz high-quality cooked ham (1 thick slice)
- 2.8 oz cherry tomatoes
- as needed extra virgin olive oil
- basil
- as needed coarse salt

Steps to Prepare Pasta Wheels Salad
First, cook the pasta until al dente and add a pinch of coarse salt.
Take a thick slice of cooked ham and cut it into small pieces. Wash the cherry tomatoes and slice them or cut them in half.
Drain the pasta and let it cool completely (you can run the pasta under cold water for a few seconds). Place the pasta in a large bowl, add a drizzle of oil, and mix gently.
Now we can dress our pasta.
Add the cooked ham and the corn.
Add the cherry tomatoes and the tuna.
Finally, a nice leaf of fresh basil.
Mix to blend all the flavors well and if you like, you can add a drizzle of oil on top.
Ready to be enjoyed!
Great to take to the beach or the mountains.
