Baked or Fried Chickpea and Olive Meatballs

Today I give you an idea to make as a tasty appetizer: BAKED OR FRIED CHICKPEA AND OLIVE MEATBALLS. Of course, it’s needless to say that they’re delicious either way, but if you want something less caloric and healthier, I recommend the baked ones, although a fried treat every now and then can’t hurt. Moreover, they’re a convenient alternative to classic meatballs for those who need it. It’s also worth mentioning that these meatballs are made without eggs. Ingredients

  • 13.5 oz water
  • 1.5 cups chickpea flour
  • to taste salt
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • 1 oz breadcrumbs
  • 10 black olives
  • to taste extra virgin olive oil
  • 1.25 cups peanut oil (if you want to fry them)

Tools

  • 1 Saucepan

Steps

  • In a saucepan, turn on the heat and warm the water until it reaches a boil, then pour in the chickpea flour

  • Stir well to combine the ingredients.

  • Pour the mixture into a bowl and add salt and pepper

  • At this point, add the olives,

  • The breadcrumbs

  • Shape our meatballs.

  • Roll them in breadcrumbs

  • Place them in a baking dish lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for 20 minutes

  • or if you prefer, fry them in peanut oil

    Yes, with 400 g of boiled chickpeas, 1 tablespoon of Parmesan, 2 eggs, a handful of chopped black olives, and enough breadcrumbs to form the meatballs. You can either fry them in a little peanut oil or bake them with a drizzle of oil until they form a crust.
