FIT TOWER WITH GREEK YOGURT, TAHINI AND BLUEBERRIES

Lately, I have been following with interest a group of nutritionists who propose staying fit starting from a healthy breakfast. This implies starting the day with a good source of complex carbohydrates like whole-grain bread, unsweetened cereals, or oatmeal, a portion of protein such as natural or Greek yogurt, ricotta, plant-based milk, etc., and vitamins, minerals offered by fresh seasonal fruit! For me, as this meal represents a real ritual, it was like rediscovering a different way to satisfy my taste buds! Because once, the cappuccino and cookies solution, however homemade or purchased choosing the simplest and most genuine possible, was my only choice! Now, however, I try to vary during the week with quick solutions but more balanced from a nutritional point of view! Occasionally, I allow myself a cookie with coffee, but it is no longer the only way I prepare breakfast, and the beauty is that I do not miss the cookies at all! This tower made with whole-grain rusks, for example, is very satisfying and is one of the most valid proposals I’ve tried, which I want to share with anyone who cares about their physical well-being! It is prepared in five minutes and does not require any cooking! You just have to create a layering by alternating the rusks previously softened in plant-based milk with Greek yogurt and a hint of homemade tahini. As I have already explained many times, it is a cream made from roasted sesame seeds that is quite nutritious and caloric, so you only need a tiny amount to add flavor and provide our body with calcium, proteins, minerals, Omega 3, and Omega 6. To complete this delicious and genuine tower, finally, a handful of blueberries, a source of antioxidants, and if you like, a scant tablespoon of agave syrup for a touch of sweetness without overdoing it with sugars! Try it in combination with a malt and barley drink or even with oat milk. It will be a perfect boost, ensuring a sense of satiety until the next meal, avoiding snacking during the morning! The servings are for one or at most two people, so they should be doubled for more family members or, if you prefer, you can reduce the layers to just two.

If fitness solutions are your daily bread, here are some other delicious ideas to inspire you:

⚠ THIS RECIPE CONTAINS ONE OR MORE AFFILIATE LINKS. The products I recommend are the same I use myself in my recipes; purchasing them through my blog helps support me and my work without costing you anything extra!

  • 3 slices whole-grain rusks
  • 3 tablespoons Greek yogurt 2% fat
  • 0.35 oz tahini
  • 0.25 cups plant-based milk (or cow's milk)
  • 1 tablespoon agave syrup
  • 0.7 oz blueberries

Tools:

  • 2 Plates
  • 1 Spoon

Steps:

  • To start, dip each rusk in the milk to slightly soften it.

  • Make sure it is well soaked on both sides but without over-soaking.

  • Let the excess drip and place the first rusk on a breakfast plate.

  • Cover the entire surface with a generous tablespoon of Greek yogurt.

  • Place another rusk on top that was previously dipped in milk and well-drained.

  • Cover with another tablespoon of yogurt.

  • Repeat the operation to create a third layer.

  • After covering the surface with more yogurt, garnish with the tahini, the sesame cream.

  • Decorate with a handful of fresh blueberries.

  • And complete with a drizzle of agave syrup if you like, but you can easily skip this step.

  • Serve immediately.

  • And there you have it…your fit tower with yogurt, tahini, and blueberries is ready to be enjoyed!

  • Bon Appétit from La Cucina di FeFè!

  • More shots…

🟣 Depending on the season, you can replace the blueberries with other fresh fruits available and to your taste; the Greek yogurt can be replaced with plain white yogurt or ricotta cow or sheep milk. Vanilla-flavored yogurt is also fine, but I do not recommend other types of yogurt, especially fruit ones, which are very high in sugars.

🟣 Instead of tahini, you can add a tablespoon of jam of your choice or marmalade, but obviously, in this case, it is mandatory to omit the addition of agave syrup.
