Apple Tart Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon zest (untreated)
  • 21 oz apples
  • 5 oz apricot jam
  • 1 oz walnut halves
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 oz raisins
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • to taste powdered sugar (for decorating)

How to Prepare the Apple Tart

  • You can prepare the shortcrust pastry by hand or with the help of a mixer. Mix the butter in small pieces with the sugar and flour in a bowl. Add the flour and the grated zest of half an untreated lemon.

  • Knead quickly and well until you have a soft but not sticky dough. Form a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and let it rest in the fridge for about an hour.

  • Soften the raisins in a bowl with hot water. Peel and clean the apples. Cut 2/3 of them into small cubes and the rest into thin slices. Place the apple cubes in a bowl. Add the sugar, chopped walnut halves, drained raisins, and cinnamon. Mix.

  • Roll out the shortcrust pastry on a floured work surface and line with it an oiled or parchment-lined 9.5-inch pan. Prick the bottom with a fork.

  • Spread the apricot jam on the shortcrust pastry base. Pour the prepared apple filling, distributing it evenly. Now arrange the apple slices around, overlapping them.

  • Sprinkle with brown sugar and let the Apple and Raisin Tart bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (static mode) for about 30 minutes. Let it cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.

See you tomorrow with a new recipe, hugs, Loredana

Loredana’s Tips

You can prepare the shortcrust pastry in advance and store it in the fridge for 1-2 days, or you can also freeze it

The tart can be stored in a container for 2-3 days, although over time the base tends to become moist due to the presence of apples and jam
