Ingredients for Cabbage with Potatoes in a Pan

  • 1.1 lbs cabbage
  • 1.1 lbs potatoes
  • 14 oz sausage (fresh pork)
  • 1 onion (medium)
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1.4 oz Grana Padano cheese, grated
  • to taste salt
  • 1 pinch pepper

How to Prepare Cabbage, Potatoes, and Sausage

  • Peel the potatoes, wash them, and cut them into cubes. Pour the olive oil into a large pan. Add the onion in thin slices and the potatoes. Cook the potatoes over medium heat, stirring often with a wooden spoon for 10-12 minutes.

  • While the potatoes cook, prepare the other ingredients. Remove the most damaged outer leaves of the cabbage. Cut it into not too thin strips. Place the cabbage in a colander, wash it, and let it drain well. Cut the sausage into pieces. I used thick sausage, but you can also choose to use thin sausage.

  • Add the cabbage and sausage to the pan with the potatoes. Season with salt and pepper. Mix and cover the pan with a lid. This way, the cabbage will release its water for perfect cooking.

  • Turn often with a wooden spoon. After 7-8 minutes of cooking, remove the lid and let it cook for a few more minutes. At the end of cooking, sprinkle the preparation with grated cheese.

See you tomorrow with a new recipe, hugs, Loredana
