Chicken cordon bleu tasty and flavorful. The recipe that I want to tell you today is that of a tasty and flavorful main course that always wins everyone over at the table, especially the little ones at home. Very likely you often bought them already prepared at the supermarket or from your butcher, but today I want to show you how simple and quick they are to prepare at home. The Cordon bleu is a chicken or turkey cutlet stuffed with cooked ham and melted cheese and breaded. The origin of this dish’s name is ancient and uncertain, literally translating to “Blue Ribbon,” which has nothing to do with this tasty chicken cutlet. I prepare them with different fillings from the classic ham and cheese to variants with grilled zucchini, speck, or other types of cheese. I recommend preparing them in advance and freezing them so that they are ready when needed. I simply baked them, but you can also fry them or cook them in an air fryer. I assure you these are the Best stuffed chicken cutlets you’ve ever tasted!

Baked Stuffed Cutlets Ingredients
- 1.1 lbs chicken breast (thinly sliced)
- 3.5 oz cooked ham
- 6.35 oz scamorza (sliced)
- 1.5 cups breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1.75 oz flour
- to taste extra virgin olive oil
How to prepare Baked Cordon bleu
To prepare this recipe, you need large and thin slices of chicken breast. If necessary, further flatten them with a meat tenderizer. Place a slice of scamorza or other soft and melting cheese on half of each chicken breast slice.
Add a slice of cooked ham. Stuff all the chicken slices the same way. Fold them in half trying to keep the filling inside.
Dip all the filled chicken slices in flour, making sure it adheres well on all sides. Beat the egg in a bowl. Place the breadcrumbs on a plate.
Now dip the Stuffed Chicken Cutlets first in the egg and then in the breadcrumbs. As you prepare them, place them in a greased baking tray. Once all are prepared, lightly oil their surface.
Bake the Stuffed Chicken Cutlets in a preheated static oven at 392°F for 20 minutes.
See you tomorrow with a new recipe, hugs, Loredana
Loredana’s Tips
You can change the filling by replacing the cooked ham with speck or mortadella and the scamorza with caciotta, emmental, smoked scamorza, or simply with cheese slices if you use them in cooking
If you prepare them in advance without cooking, you can store them in the fridge for 2 days or freeze them
