Ingredients for Pandoro with Cream

  • 14 oz pandoro
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups whole milk
  • 3 tablespoons potato starch
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

How to Prepare Pandoro with Cream

  • Beat the 2 egg yolks with the sugar using a whisk or an electric mixer until the mixture is light and fluffy. Also, add the potato starch and mix well. Bring the milk to a boil in a saucepan with a piece of vanilla bean.

  • Drop the eggs into the saucepan with the milk and, stirring with a whisk, let the cream thicken over medium heat. It will only take 1-2 minutes. Remove the vanilla.

  • Cut the pandoro into slices, the size doesn’t matter and they don’t have to be the same. Butter a baking dish and cover the bottom with slices of pandoro. Spread half of the cream over it, even if it’s still warm, and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

  • Continue with more pandoro, cream, and cinnamon until you finish the ingredients. Finally, distribute knobs of butter and the brown sugar over the surface. Let the Pandoro dessert bake in the hot oven at 375°F for 12-14 minutes. In the last minutes of cooking, place it on the grill to form a delicious crispy crust.
